Type of stored data, purpose and legal bases, deletion periods, participant database
The data collected in the online recruitment system Orsee are used exclusively for the organization of experiments at the CoRe LaB and will not be shared with third parties.
The following data are required for the system to function and are collected from all participants:
- First and surname
- Email addresses to which the invitations will be sent
- For which experiments one has registered, as well as whether one has actually shown up and participated
In addition, participants may provide further data, which is not mandatory. These data include telephone number, gender, academic degrees, study start date, and profession. Please note that these data are necessary for some experiments. For example, it may happen that only bachelor students in their first semester or only men/women studying a certain subject receive invitations to participate in a particular experiment. Subjects who have not provided the corresponding data may not be invited to participate in such experiments.
The data is used for the following purposes:
- Invitation and information of participants for experiments
- Verification of the attendance or non-attendance of registered participants.
The data generated in experiments are not linked to the data stored in the online recruitment system. Participants may decide that they do not wish to receive further invitations to experiments at any time. Participants are free to unsubscribe from the Orsee database independently.
Experiments
The data/responses generated in the experiments are analyzed by scientists at the CoRe LaB. These data are anonymized and cannot be traced back to individuals. Results of the scientific analyses are used for academic research and lectures. In general, our research is publicly available.
The data of our experimental studies are collected completely anonymized as well as pseudonymized and serve scientific research purposes as well as publications of Prof. Landwehr and Prof. Bornemann. The anonymized data are stored for an indefinite time on a hard drive of Goethe University. Only selected persons from both chairs have access to it. Data will not be transferred to third parties. Deletion of individual experimental data is technically not possible due to anonymization.
